4/3/01 - Mark Andy Inc., a Dover Corporation (NYSE:DOV) company, part of the Dover Diversified segment, has acquired Comco, a global supplier of narrow and mid-web flexographic printing presses. Mark Andy, the world’s number one producer of narrow web printing equipment, will continue to market and support both Mark Andy and Comco as the two leading brands in the industry. “The acquisition of Comco provides Mark Andy with an exceptional strategic growth opportunity in flexible packaging and folding carton applications,” says John Eulich, President of Mark Andy. “Together, Mark Andy and Comco will bring a variety of complimentary innovations, solutions and technologies that will deliver the level of equipment and service converters are demanding in today’s environment.” Comco, lead by founder and President Mark Herrmann, has been designing and building quality narrow web presses since 1969. Of the acquisition, Mark Herrmann states, “Over the past few years, Comco has successfully refocused its strategy to concentrate on the folding carton and flexible packaging markets with the MSP Pro Glide press line.
