Press release from the issuing company

CHICAGO, IL -- 4/3/01 Sam O'Connor has learned the value of experience and trusting your instinct. Colorweb, his forms printing company for the trade industry, is well known in Dallas and has successfully diversified over the past five years by adding sheetfed offset capability alongside their web presses. After serving as a beta test site, Colorweb is taking the next step forward with the purchase of two, software-driven PowerPro 34 twin-tower presses from A.B.Dick Company. "I wasn't sold initially on the PowerPro 34 until I learned what it could do. But after we tested it, there was no question in my mind," said O'Connor, who worked with Morrie Williams at A.B.Dick/Dallas. "In today's technology world, it gives us the ability and creativity to meet customers' quality issues and on-time demands. This equipment serves our niche market very well. It makes me proud to give my customers work like this." O'Connor's experience with two-tower presses has helped Colorweb to prosper. He joined the company as Vice President of Manufacturing in 1987 and became co-owner with two partners in 1991. He later purchased his first twin-tower from A.B.Dick, installing a Century 3000 with several other one and two-color offset presses. The PowerPro 34 is no ordinary portrait press. It offers many large press features found with more expensive landscape format presses, such as a motorized continuous film dampener with paper-sensing moisture control. A superior 100-0-0 inking system, traditionally found only in higher-end web presses, prevents ghosting through improved ink distribution. With quick-wet and pre-wet switches, an operator can apply a quick burst of moisture to the plate surface on demand. This is especially helpful when running silver plate material. A Stream Feeder with vacuum pull assures precise registration.
