Oce Introduces the I-Magic Box for Production Managers

Press release from the issuing company

Venlo, March 29, 2001 - Océ introduces the I-Magic Box, a marketing program intended to support DPC (Document Production Centre) managers in promoting their added value to the company 's departments and end-users. Modular toolkit based on customer feedback and site visits The I-Magic Box is designed as a modular toolkit, and is based on customer feedback and visits to successful central printing sites. It provides a step-by-step approach for DPC managers with the ambition to expand their service levels and communication efforts to create more value for their in-house customers and increase end-user satisfaction. The target group for the I-Magic Box consists of facility managers, print room managers and customer representatives in print service delivery who aim to attract additional printing work based on a value-added services package and increased service levels offered by their Document Production Centres. Important reasons to maintain an in-house DPC The availability of the I-Magic Box reflects the changes which are taking place in the centralised printing environment under the influence of trends like outsourcing, digitalisation of information and the availability of more powerful printing and copying equipment in departments and workgroups. Despite these changes, there are many legitimate reasons to maintain the important role of the DPC within a company. The confidentiality of documents, control of corporate identity and quality standards, as well as the convenience, time savings and economy of having documents produced at companies' own locations, are three of the most important arguments for maintaining in-house DPC facilities. Supporting DPC managers in adding value to core processes To justify the continued existence of 'non-core support functions like in-house printing and copying, the benefits to the organisation must be made clear. Every opportunity to add value to the core processes must be taken, or even better: created! Enabling DPC managers to do so in the most effective possible way is the reason behind the introduction of the I-Magic Box by Océ.
