PROLATUS To Debut At Seybold Boston - Garners Seybold Editors Hot Pick

Press release from the issuing company

Minneapolis, March 30, 2001 PROLATUS, formerly Colorcentric.com, today announced that it is receiving a coveted Seybold Publications Editors’ Hot Pick at its planned company launch and unveiling of industry-first technology at the upcoming Seybold Seminars Boston 2001 (April 10-12) event. At Seybold, PROLATUS (the company) will debut along with a new solution family based on its bandwidth independent Catalyst Technology. PROLATUS solutions permit content creators to drag and drop any size image file and send it quickly, at no cost, over a standard internet connection to any PROLATUS enabled printer/prepress location in the world. The receiver can perform any and all image editing production processes using their existing, mainstream image editing applications. When they return the file to the sender, their changes are automatically applied to the original image. Because PROLATUS Catalyst Technology is so easy and cost-effective it may be destined to become a standard for image file transfer. To be considered for Hot Picks recognition, all exhibiting companies were invited to submit information on the products and technologies they will be exhibiting at Seybold Seminars Boston 2001. Nearly 200 submissions were received for the Boston event and from those, the Seybold Publications editors selected the new products, services and technologies that they believed were particularly relevant to professional publishing and reflect their vision of where the industry is heading. "The Hot Picks recipients for Seybold Seminars Boston 2001 represent an eclectic group," said Patricia Evans, managing editor of The Seybold Report: Analyzing Publishing Technologies. "Many of the products services and technologies selected are evidence of the publishing industry’s migration to cross-media publishing." Pete Dyson, Senior Editor for the Seybold Report on Publishing Systems, says of the PROLATUS Hot Pick designation, "We were highly impressed last fall when Colorcentric.com (now PROLATUS) launched its color correction service. Now the company is making its Catalyst Technology available to printers and agencies that want to provide remote services to their own clients. The Catalyst Technology offers even more features than before and approaches the capabilities of a full-image editing workflow package." "We can’t think of a better way to launch a company and a technology," said Don Atkinson, president of PROLATUS. "When you decide to launch at a Seybold, the prospect of an Editor’s Hot Pick is what you hope to achieve. This is great recognition for our unique technology and provides us with an terrific boost for our launch at the show."
