Markzware and Creativepro.com Announce Settlement

SANTA ANA, CA & PORTLAND, OR – March 29, 2001 – Markzware and Creativepro.com today announced that they have settled a lawsuit brought by Markzware against Creativepro.com in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, Case No. C-00-01932 CAL, alleging infringement of Markzware's US Patent No. 5,963,641, entitled "Device and Method for Examining, Verifying, Correcting and Approving Electronic Documents Prior to Printing, Transmission or Recording." In connection with the settlement, Markzware and Creativepro.com have entered into a patent license agreement under which Markzware has granted to Creativepro.com a non-exclusive license with respect to Markzware's patent. Creativepro.com said it does not expect this arrangement to have a material impact on its business. In a joint statement, Markzware and Creativepro.com said, "We are very pleased that the parties have settled the litigation and believe this settlement is in the best interests of our companies. This settlement resolves the legal issues between the parties and permits the parties to move forward." The details of the terms of the settlement agreement and the license agreement are confidential, and the parties have agreed not to disclose any of the specific terms except for those stated in this press release.
