REXAM Image Products Adds New Grand Format Media Options to Magic Line

Press release from the issuing company

SOUTH HADLEY, MA, March 22, 2001 - Rexam Image Products, a worldwide leader in the manufacture of coated paper, films and specialty substrates, today announced that it has expanded its line of Magic ink jet grand format media options with the addition of three new products: mesh banner, Tyvek banner and polyester backlit film. The two new banner offerings give users more options for indoor and outdoor applications. GFTB9 is a banner-grade Tyvek offering that can be used for promotional applications where tear resistance is required. Intended for use with Vutek printers and solvent-based piezo inks, the material is ideal for banner applications that are exposed to windy conditions, especially when spanning open spaces. GFMBF, a mesh banner fabric, is a unique open-weave printable material for indoor and outdoor signage. Its coating provides a smooth print surface for superb graphics on a variety of piezo ink jet printers. GFMBF's woven structure allows for air flow in high wind applications, but it also provides exceptional tear strength. The mesh, made up of synthetic material, is lightweight, flexible, stretch-free and resistant to the elements, making it ideal for outdoor applications such as building wraps, scaffolding covers, banners and general signage. The polyester film, GFBL5, is a 5-mil backlit film that can be used in Vutek grand format printing systems equipped with solvent-based piezo inks. GFBL5 is ideal for front printing backlit applications where high color density can be achieved, such as light-box applications.
