Dana Consulting & PINE Co-Sponsor Print-Buyers Program

Press release from the issuing company

3/22/01 - Margie Gallo Dana of the Boston-area firm Dana Consulting is co-sponsoring a program with PINE (Printing Industries of New England), entitled "How to Work Effectively with Printers," which will be held on Tuesday, March 27 from 8:30 am to 12 noon at the Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education Building, 10 Winter Street, Boston. Ms. Dana, a former corporate print-buyer who founded her consulting firm in 1997 to promote effective communication between printers and their customers, will moderate the morning session. With 25 years of experience in the field, Margie Dana is a combination author, speaker, and printing expert. She specializes in the printing needs and technological trends of today. Ms. Dana is a member of the Printing Institute’s Board of Directors as well as a regular contributor to "eXpert Row" on www.whattheythink.com, the major Internet printing portal. Margie was recently named Editor of Print Buyer Today, a brand-new publication for print buyers. "How to Work Effectively with Printers" is designed to help any professional who works with printers -- including print buyers, graphic designers, ad agency account executives, marketing coordinators, and business owners -- and at all experience levels. Topics to be discussed include the printer/client relationship, the value of print brokers, proofing and press checks, the impact of digital printing on the industry, and more. Opportunities for questions will be provided also. Ms. Dana says, "Our goal is to share print industry knowledge with consumers, by discussing technical do’s and don’ts that will help them save time and money, and by offering a host of practical suggestions for how to improve the printer-buyer relationship." "Printing is customized manufacturing," adds Dana, "and the more that consumers know about printing -- the more success they’ll have with printers." Several print industry leaders will share their insights about today’s printing landscape. Speakers include David Cohen, Operations Manager for The Smith Print; Mark Hoffman, Print Buyer for WGBH; Hannah Holden, VP/Executive Production Manager for Arnold Communications; Kitty St. Sauveur, President of the Alliance Print Group; and Steve Shinnick, VP/Director of Sales for All Systems Solutions. Tuition for the half-day program, which includes continental breakfast, is $49. To register, contact Dana Consulting at www.printconsulting.com or the Education Department of Printing Industries of New England at 508-804-4150.
