eFlex Narrow Web Flexographic Press for Kenya

Press release from the issuing company

Focus Label Machinery Ltd, based in Bingham, Nottingham, is pleased to announce the completion of a new order from ‘Paperhouse’ based in Kenya, who have confirmed their selection for the modular ‘eFlex’ flexographic Press. The 10 Colour, full servo 430mm wide press will be housed in their Nairobi facility running alongside the existing flexographic lines, including a Focus Proflex Servo previously supplied in 2010.

The new equipment starts a process of investment for Paperhouse to modernise, automate and improve productivity, diversify and to meet the growing market demands in east Africa.

Paperhouse spent 12 months looking at various manufacturers comparing features, technology & technical support. The eFlex was tested in the Focus UK showroom just prior to the pandemic in February 2020, and whilst it was sensible at the time to postpone the investment, it seems now is the right time to forge ahead.

The new servo press features 10 Colours, full UV drying with chill rolls, cold foil, peel & reveal, delam-relam, pre-register, auto register, 2nd pass register, all touch screens controls and Bosch Rexroth drive technology with live on-line monitoring & support.

George Gatimu, Paperhouse project manager said the installation will continue “a rebirth” for the business. "The new Press will augment and improve on our existing Flexo machinery; this is a great step in the right direction for us and the advance in technology will make us that much more competitive.” George continued.

Anthony Cotton, Business Development & Marketing Manager for Focus, added ‘’this is another great installation for Focus and it has been an enjoyable project as the customer was very open to new ideas throughout the process.’’

Cotton also said, ‘’The specification gives Paperhouse absolute flexibility in the market they serve and will consolidate and generate new business for them.’’

David Lee, Managing Director at Focus, also commented, ‘’As a family company that has been running now for over 40 years, we are proud to have been able to build on our previous relationship with Paperhouse. It is very satisfying to retain trust through our continued commitment to providing the latest and best new technology, backed with service and support.
