Nobelus® Extends Popular SmudgeProof™ Laminate Line

Press release from the issuing company

Laminate solutions company launches smudge-resistant film for digital presses

KNOXVILLE, TENNESSEE – Nobelus, known for its specialty line of films for the print and packaging trade, extends its successful smudge-resistant thermal film line with the launch of SmudgeProof™ Laminate with DigiBOND™ adhesive.

This clear, OPP film guards against scuff marks, smudges, and fingerprints, allowing prints, packaging and book covers to boast beautiful tactility without showing wear. The unique DigiBOND™ adhesive, used on the SmudgeProof™ base film, is made especially for digital toner presses from companies such as Xerox®, Kodak®, Konica Minolta, and Ricoh.

The 1.2 mil protective laminate performs well in digital applications prone to more handling while retaining the signature petal-soft feel. The film’s high surface energy makes an excellent platform for post-print embellishments, especially detailed Scodix® artwork.

“We’re excited to extend our SmudgeProof™ protective film out to a broader group of digital print providers,” says Tom Snooks, Consumables Product Manager at Nobelus. “Our clients with HP Indigo® presses have utilized the standard version of this thermal laminate for years and with the rollout of the DigiBOND option now more clients can add this smudge-proof film to their finishing portfolio.”

This launch is evidence of Nobelus’ continued commitment to offer brand owners, publishers, and print finishers a broad range of high-performance specialty finishes to elevate the consumer experience.
