Corbis and WAM!NET Join to Deliver Image Asset Library

Press release from the issuing company

BELLEVUE, Wash. and EAGAN, Minn. -- March 14, 2001 -- Corbis (www.corbis.com), a global leader in providing digital stock photography and imagery, and WAM!NET (www.wamnet.com), a leading provider of information technology and digital content management services, today announced that the companies will collaborate to revolutionize the way digital photography, artwork, illustrations and video clips are stored, accessed and delivered. Leveraging WAM!NET's global managed network, data storage and hosting services, the new offering will make available the more than 25,000 royalty-free, or non-licensed, photographs and images within the Corbis Collection -- the largest accumulation of digital images in the world -- on a subscription basis to corporations, publishers, agencies and other creative professionals. Corbis' images will be available from within WAM!NET's centralized, off-site storage service for digital assets and be accessible through either the Internet or a customer premise equipment-based connection to WAM!NET's secure, fully managed IP network. To be commercially available in April 2001, the service subscriptions will be marketed and sold by both WAM!NET and Corbis to their respective existing customers bases and new prospects. Subscription and pricing information will be made available at that time. Currently, Corbis delivers its royalty-free images on a set of more than 250 CD-ROMs and multi-resolution single images delivered to customers, or through the Internet at corbis.com, a convenient point of access for one-time use or a limited number of images. Augmenting these options, the new service will deliver global, 24x7 access to images, while eliminating the challenges associated with Internet-related file size and storage capacity restrictions, and multiple demands for individual CDs, lost CDs or outdated content.
