Xerox and PIA/GATF Affiliates Offer free Web-to-Print Webinar

Tuesday, October 14, 2008

Press release from the issuing company

(October 13, 2008) A free Webinar on capturing growth opportunities with Web-to-print systems will be presented by Julie Shaffer, director, Printing Industries of America/Graphic Arts Technical Foundation Digital Print Council, on Tuesday, Oct. 14, from 2 - 3 p.m. EDT. The Webinar is presented in collaboration by Xerox Corporation and local affiliates of PIA/GATF. To register, go to: www.xerox.com/2008DigitalPrintWebinarSeries.
As consumers increasingly expect to do business over the Internet, Web-to-print services have become a business imperative. For those seeking to enter this market, the sheer number of Web-to-print products can be overwhelming, and they can make differentiating services a significant challenge. This Webinar will help participants meet these challenges, by describing successes with the various Web-to-print business models, including storefronts, brand management solutions, VDP/mail merge, document management and workflow management. Shaffer also will discuss sales approaches, and she’ll reveal results of a recently completed Digital Printing Council study on how printers are compensating salespeople for sales of non-print services, such as Web-to-print.
Shaffer leads the Center for Digital Printing Excellence at PIA/GATF headquarters in Sewickley, Pa. She is well known for her graphic production expertise and is often called upon for training, presentations and to provide on-site consulting throughout the world. Shaffer conducts research on diverse topics such as PDF color management and Web-to-print implementation, and is a frequent contributor to printing industry publications.
The Webinar is part of the 2008 Xerox-PIA/GATF Digital Print Webinar Series. The seven-part series features leading industry experts speaking on a range of topics in sales and marketing, print operations and business development, to educate print providers on the essentials of running a successful digital printing business.
