HPs Joel Birnbaum to Join Indigo Board

Maastricht, The Netherlands, March 7, 2001 - Indigo NV (NASDAQ: INDG) the leader in digital color printing systems, announced today the appointment of Dr. Joel S. Birnbaum to its Board of Directors. Dr. Birnbaum is currently Special Technical Assistant to Carly Fiorina, CEO, President and Chairman of Hewlett Packard.. During his twenty-year stellar career with Hewlett Packard, Dr. Birnbaum has held various senior executive positions, including senior vice president for research and development and director of HP Labs, as well as general manager of Hewlett Packard’s Information Technology Group, Benny Landa, Chairman and CEO of Indigo commented: “We are delighted to welcome Joel Birnbaum, who brings a wealth of experience in management, business and technology, to Indigo’s Board. We eagerly welcome his contribution to our Board.” Dr. Birnbaum’s appointment to Indigo’s Board of Directors is a further strengthening of the three-faceted strategic alliance between Hewlett Packard and Indigo that was announced on September 14, 2000. This included a $100 million HP equity investment in Indigo, an OEM agreement for the HP branding of Indigo digital color printing presses, and an agreement to jointly develop and bring to market next-generation digital color printing products.
