Printable Trims Staff, Prepares for April Launch of Printflight

Press release from the issuing company

3/3/01 - (WhatTheyThink) According to Phil Moen, Vice President of Sales, Printable has reduced it’s overall employee size by around 25%. The company now has 65 employees. Moen said the decision was made to align Printable with their business plan. “Printable increased employment last year to build out our web based solution. We also hired for an anticipated acquisition, but decided against the acquisition last month.” Moen said the company has secured many new customers and there have been no surprises from management’s perspective. “We have a strong management team in place and continue to execute. Our technology infrastructure is solid and our customers are very pleased with Printable’s solution.” Moen said Printable will launch PrintFlight on April 8th. This technology will enable preflighted files to be delivered right to the user’s desktop. Printable PreFlight has built in technology from Markzware. Moen said it’s a combination of both file transfer and customer specific preflighting. “PrintFlight allows printers to set up their customers and graphical file suppliers to have their files easily preflighted by simply dropping their file into a browser. The file is preflighted and then the application provides an error report to either the file provider or the printer.” The file is then either fixed and delivered or simply delivered with an error report to the printer. Moen said the software will allow the user to set up the parameters and define which actual items are to be preflighted so that each installation becomes a unique preflight. “This will save incredible time in getting files to press as it allows the printer or the file supplier to repair the file errors, without the constant calling back and forth about file issues. In addition, the file can be collected for output so no fonts and high-res files are missing. This web-based process can be stand-alone or used in combination with applications and web sites already provided by Printable. This new application from Printable will add even more usefulness to the Internet, which will truly help them deliver print faster and with fewer errors.”
