Standard Register to Use SMARTworks to Support Consolidated Graphics

Press release from the issuing company

(DAYTON, OHIO), February 28, 2001 Standard Register (NYSE: SR) today announced it will begin using new Design to Order services from SMARTworks.com, Inc. to support its commercial print alliance with Consolidated Graphics, Inc. (NYSE: CGX). "In the past," says Standard Register print on demand marketing manager John Suguitan, "we could review previous orders and place exact reorders via SMARTworks®, but we had no way of entering new commercial print specifications into the system." To help eliminate that issue, Design to Order adds four new capabilities, including Specification Capture Controls, to the SMARTworks platform. These capabilities, which also include Workflow Controls, Managed Supplier Services and Collaboration Tools, span the overall commercial print process-from request for estimate to order placement to shipping-allowing complete control of commercial print orders via the SMARTworks Web site. "Consolidated Graphics continues to be excited about our alliance with Standard Register. Our core competencies complement each other in the marketplace and this new capability within SMARTworks only adds to that relationship," says Lynn Brewton, vice president of the National Accounts Group at Consolidated Graphics. "We look forward to using SMARTworks for managing Commercial Print volume through the Alliance. This new ability adds to their existing expertise and knowledge-base in terms of order management and customized reporting."
