New Software Platform and Accessories Presented for Canon imageRUNNER 110

February 28, 2001 - Canon U.S.A., Inc., a subsidiary of Japan-based Canon Inc. (NYSE:CAJ) and market leader in imaging solutions, today announced the availability of a new software platform and accessories that will significantly enhance digital printing productivity and workflow using the Canon imageRUNNER 110. The imageRUNNER 110 meets the high-speed needs of on-demand printing and duplicating with fast output at 110 pages-per-minute and an open architecture that easily integrates into existing customer networks. The new portfolio of options includes new functions that improve efficiency and versatility in addressing a wide array of document applications. ImageSmart Production Software, version 4.17, which expands imageRUNNER 110 functionality and use within the marketplace. Post-Process Document Inserter, a new imageRUNNER 110 accessory offering a 4,000 sheet paper capacity and the ability to insert easily both pre-printed color and image-rich documents into black-and-white documents, without slowing workflow. Canon imageSCANNER 65 Production Scanner, supporting both Simplex and Duplex scanning while delivering true 600 x 600 dots-per-inch resolution at its full speed of 65 pages-per-minute (Simplex mode). Canon Perfect Binder, manufactured by C.P. Bourg, which allows on-demand bookbinding and printing of up to 250 books-per-hour. The Perfect Binder handles a variety of cover types, including single-sided, glossy-coated, cutout or transparent media, and also provides milling, scoring, and paper waste collection capabilities.
