Imation Joins Intel Business Advantage Portal

Press release from the issuing company

OAKDALE, Minn. (February 20, 2001) – Imation Corp. (NYSE:IMN) today announced it will be a supplier for the Intel® Business Advantage Portal. This B2B e-marketplace provides Imation efficient access to approximately 10,000 Intel Product Dealers in North America. Intel created the Intel Business Advantage Portal to make it easier for Intel Product Dealers to offer their customers more complete PC and server solutions and achieve cost efficiencies. "Strategic e-marketplace participation will allow Imation to enhance existing relationships and expand its access to a new and larger customer base," said Steve Ladwig, Senior Vice President, Imation Corp., and President, Imation Data Storage and Information Management. "Imation will continue to support new customer relationship models and new markets by integrating e-marketplace participation into its overall e-business and channel strategy." The Intel Business Advantage Portal offers discounts on components and solutions such as software, hardware, peripherals, Internet access, and e-Commerce services, and displays suppliers’ offerings in an e-marketplace. By participating, Intel Product Dealers are able to receive rebates and commissions on the e-Business suppliers’ services and product offerings they sell to their customers. “Suppliers such as Imation are an integral part of the Intel Business Advantage Portal, as they help enable Intel channel members to differentiate themselves in an evolving Internet economy,” said Jim Yasso, vice president and general manager of Intel’s Reseller Products Division. “We are excited to be working with Imation on this program.”
