httprint Launches Online Production Center

Press release from the issuing company

SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 21, 2001 - httprint Inc., the full-service provider for the printing and publishing industry, today announced the launch of its online Production Center. Constructed from httprint's Private Label Web technology, the new private site will be utilized by httprint's customers, suppliers and production managers for projects httprint has been engaged to manage. Customers and suppliers will log on to have a readily accessible window into their projects 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They can submit project specs, check the status of their projects -- from schedule changes to project alerts and reports -- send files, view proofs, and even communicate live with httprint production experts. It is all available for clients and suppliers of httprint's Print Services Group. Customers can also utilize the httprint team of production experts to manage all or part of any of their projects on a part-time or completely outsourced basis. httprint has a diverse group of approved, best-in-class suppliers it works with, and provides its clients with a single point of contact on all projects allowing them to focus on other areas of their job. httprint already licenses its proprietary technology to print buyers and sellers. These branded sites have the look and feel of the customer, but are powered by httprint, and enable print buyers and sellers to offer a robust suite of e-commerce workflow and collaboration tools through their own intranets and/or web sites. httprint is the only e-commerce provider in the industry to offer consulting and print production management services. The Production Center portion of www.httprint.com enhances this offering. With the new resource, httprint will continue to act as a print production management company, managing all or part of the print process - from recommending the best paper to performing late-night press checks. "httprint customers are already using our Private Label offering to streamline the print procurement and management process," said Mark Porter, CEO of httprint. "Now we are using this technology to standardize workflow and centralize print production assignments within our own business. httprint is one of the largest print buyers in the country and, in fact, one of the largest print sellers. It makes sense that we implement these cost-saving efficiencies for ourselves. We expect enormous savings from this move which will drop right to our bottom line." Designed by print production managers, httprint's Production Center enables managers to communicate directly with customers and vendors anytime, anywhere. "Customers can easily access and navigate the private site to check the status of their print jobs or communicate with their designated print production manager," added Porter. "More importantly, print buyers can feel confident that httprint production managers are working with best-of-class suppliers to achieve the highest quality results." There is no cost to httprint customers or its select network of vendors to use the Production Center.
