PARAMUS, NJ—January 30, 2001 - The National Association for Printing Leadership (NAPL) will bestow its annual Technical Leadership Award on Charles (Charlie) Pesko, president of CAP Ventures. The presentation will be made during a special ceremony during NAPL’s annual Top Management Conference at the Four Seasons Biltmore in Santa Barbara, Calif. James Finger, chairman of the NAPL Awards Committee, NAPL director, and president of Nies/Artcraft Printing, will make the presentation. Each year, NAPL presents an award for technical leadership in the graphic arts. The Technical Leadership Award is bestowed to an individual in the graphic arts industry who in all respects personifies the principles of craftsmanship. The award recognizes definable achievement in some area of technical endeavor that can be broadly characterized as technical leadership. It may be demonstrated through work in associations, or practical technological achievement  or invention. Leadership in graphic arts education also qualifies a candidate. Charles A. Pesko, Jr. formed Charles A. Pesko Ventures in 1991 to serve the electronic printing and imaging industry in the areas of strategic consulting, market research, information services, publications, and trade events.  He has more than 20 years of industry experience leading imaging suppliers to achieve industry success.  During this 20-year period, Mr. Pesko has conducted research and consulting for literally every major player in the electronic imaging market worldwide.  Mr. Pesko is founder and chairman of Imaging World, the first major industry magazine dedicated to serving the corporate electronic imaging industry.  He founded CAP International in 1979, to provide custom consulting services with a focus on the imaging marketplace.  In 1988 the company was acquired by the BIS Group, Ltd.  He changed the company’s name to BIS Strategic Decisions and grew it to one of the largest information technology consulting firms in the world.  Mr. Pesko is a recognized authority in the information processing and electronic imaging markets.
