Getty Images Launches gettyworks.com

Press release from the issuing company

SEATTLE, Wash. — February 12, 2001 — Getty Images, Inc. (Nasdaq: GETY), the leading e-commerce provider of imagery and related products and services, today announced the launch of gettyworks.com, the first comprehensive, do-it-yourself Web site for creating a wide range of image-rich business communication materials, including reports, newsletters, stationery, Web sites, and Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentations.   A recent Harris Interactive poll showed 82 percent of all business professionals surveyed, who use a computer at work and have access to the Internet, believed having professional-looking business materials could give them a competitive advantage. In addition, the same research showed 32 percent of the business people surveyed were spending an average of more than $100,000 a year on design. Further, large businesses were disproportionately spending more - 50 percent of the large businesses surveyed indicated they spend more than $100,000 a year.   With more than 22 million installed copies of Microsoft PowerPoint within the United States, and more than 75,000 new small-business Web sites being created monthly, the growth potential for gettyworks.com is strong. While other Web offerings are available to business users, most are "one-off" solutions, requiring customers to spend time and effort going from one site to the next in search of design solutions that, ultimately, cannot guarantee a high-quality, unified look across a range of business materials.   Addressing these market issues and concerns, gettyworks.com provides customers - regardless of their level of design or computer expertise - a centralized, easy-to-use, and inexpensive resource to create a wide array of image-based business materials, saving time and money. The site offers the best in imagery, tips, recommendations, and tools to help customers successfully communicate in a professional manner.
