Press release from the issuing company

2/14/01 -(WhatTheyThink) According to the newly formed association’s web site, the E-Book Newsstand Association will serve as the meeting place for companies active in the delivery of periodical information to consumers or business customers via e-books, personal digital assistants, or electronic paper. The association says that companies joining EBNA include newspapers, magazines, newsletters, catalogs, hardware and software manufacturers, educators, and other companies interested in electronic distribution. The association offers members - promotion of the company's products or services through the EBNA Website; a soon to be development of a members-only research on the e-book, PDA, and e-paper markets; and representation of members interests before government, media, and the e-publishing industries. Founding board members include William Adler of Reader’s Digest, Matthew Benner of Barnes & Noble.com and Vin Crosbie of Digital Deliverance. Crosbie is the acting Chairman of the organization.
