International Paper Selects mySAP.com, Will Increase Value for Customers

WALLDORF, Germany - Feb. 14, 2001 - SAP AG (NYSE ADR: SAP) today announced that International Paper Co. has selected the mySAP.com® e-business platform to help the company achieve its goals for enhanced profitability, operational excellence and value for its customers. International Paper will utilize mySAP.com as the global framework for developing and launching strategic applications, including its new enterprise employee portal My-IP. In addition to helping streamline operations and reduce costs, mySAP.com will provide a technology infrastructure enabling International Paper to share information such as billing and supplies with its employees, customers and suppliers around the world. Specifically, mySAP™ Workplace™ will improve International Paper's enterprise portal capabilities by securing and enabling access to services and applications. mySAP E-Procurement will allow International Paper to provide customers and suppliers with a consolidated source of product and service information, standardized automated requisitioning and approval, and a Web-based requisition tool for placing orders through an online catalog. In addition, International Paper is evaluating the use of mySAP E-Procurement to provide the automatic submission of purchase orders for preferred suppliers. "Internally, mySAP.com gives us a cost-effective platform to successfully deploy SAP® solutions worldwide," said J. Chris Scalet, vice president and chief information officer of information technology at International Paper. "Employees will be able to take advantage of one basic, secured network sign-on via our employee services Web portal, giving them self-service access to their job information, as well as payroll and savings plan data. On the customer side, mySAP.com will enhance our supply chain management efforts by providing us increased speed and efficiency, giving our customers quicker access to our existing applications and customer-specific information, including inventory, order and shipment status. As our customers move toward managing their inventories and procurement online, we look forward to the contribution mySAP.com can provide to International Paper in the future."
