Lexmark Launches -Web Based Gas Gauge- for Their Printer Line

Press release from the issuing company

LEXINGTON, Ky., Feb 12, 2001 -- Lexmark International, Inc. has introduced the Lexmark Printer Supplies Monitor, a Web-based, downloadable tool that proactively monitors ink usage and alerts Lexmark inkjet printer customers when their ink is low, preventing customers from unexpectedly running out of ink at inconvenient times. When customers download the Lexmark Printer Supplies Monitor for free from Lexmark’s Web site, they select the frequency of notification. For example, a customer can choose to be notified of their supplies’ status by a pop-up window on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis or only when ink levels drop to 65, 45 and 25 percent of capacity. This Web-based tool offers customers the ultimate in convenience: proactively monitoring their ink usage, alerting them of ink levels as often as the customer wishes, and then offering the customer the choice of when, where and how to purchase Lexmark supplies. The Lexmark Printer Supplies Monitor supports most of the Lexmark inkjet printer products that are directly attached to PCs. For the occasional check of ink levels, a customer can periodically check their printer ink supply level by pointing their Web browser to Lexmark’s Web site and running the Lexmark Printer Supplies Monitor.
