RIT Receives Donation of Technology from FileFlow

Press release from the issuing company

Miami Beach, FL - February 12, 2001 FileFlow Inc. (Milford, MA), the developer of the world's fastest and most secure delivery and storage systems for digital image workflow across the Internet, today announced that it has made complimentary FastSend™ and FastStore™ subscriptions available to the High Technology Center for Electronic Publishing and Imaging (HTC) in the college of The National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID) at the Rochester Institute of Technology (Rochester, NY). RIT is a world leader among higher-learning institutions for the teaching of graphic design and printing technologies, including to deaf and hard-of-hearing students. FastStore provides fast, secure storage of digital media files for web-based collaboration and distribution. FastSend uses the most advanced compression technology available to transmit large files over the Internet in a fraction of the time required by alternative solutions. "We are very pleased to make these invaluable tools available to our students and faculty," said Michael Kleper, Paul and Louise Miller Distinguished Professor in the RIT School of Printing Management and Sciences and former industry liaison for donations at the HTC. "FastSend and FastStore will be of tremendous benefit in both our on-site classes and especially in our extensive distance-learning program." "FastStore enhances teamwork among people who would rather spend time being creative than dealing with technical glitches," said Nils-Johan Pedersen, President and CEO of FileFlow, from his office in Oslo, Norway. "It allows any number of people to store and share information without the inconvenience and time-lag of having to send data physically. If you have access to the Internet, you have fast, managed access to your large files, regardless of whether you are on a narrowband or broadband connection."
