DAX to Integrates ClearLogic NetProof Online Proofing Solution into Offerings

Press release from the issuing company

BOSTON, MA -- February 8, 2001 -- Digital Art Exchange, Inc. (DAX) and ClearLogic, Inc., a custom software and e-business solutions provider, today announced a strategic partnership. ClearLogic's NetProof(R) online proofing software solution will be added to the DAX suite of applications, providing the technology behind the second version of DAXProof. A web-based solution, NetProof lowers the cost of print jobs while decreasing the turnaround time of the publishing approval process. "In this partnership with DAX, we will be able to introduce all of NetProof's benefits to the graphic communications industry, making it easy for printers, publishers and advertising agencies to see the direct correlation between our powerful, easy-to-use application and their bottom line," said Philip S. Burnham, CEO of ClearLogic. "NetProof's feature list is applicable to what DAX customers, and the rest of the industry, are ready to take advantage of right now. By focusing on what customers want to get out of soft proofing, we've created a solution that is easy to use, quick to implement and very competitively priced." NetProof enables users to instantly view layouts, mockups, scoreboards and video segments in a variety of file formats through the use of a Web browser. Users can collaborate with other individuals and team members by viewing and entering comments about the project's content. The NetProof-powered DAXProof 2.0 application offers several advantages over other proofing solutions, not only in terms of applicable features and cost, but also regarding ease-of-use. NetProof doesn't require customers to download any special software or plug-ins to their desktop, making it a true browser-based application. "We have found that while soft proofing has been around for a number of years, it was difficult to implement without making significant capital investments," said Martijn van Steeg, COO of DAX. "By utilizing ClearLogic's NetProof technology in an ASP model, DAX customers will be able to take advantage of soft proofing on a per-project basis without a large investment. DAXProof 2.0 covers all the bases our customers feel are important when considering soft proofing over the web, and ClearLogic's pricing structure makes it more accessible to the entire graphic communications industry." DAX chose to offer ClearLogic's NetProof service because its features and ease-of-use gives DAX customers an incentive to improve a step in their workflow process. The DAXProof 2.0 service can be integrated into the existing assortment of DAX managed Internet and application services for the industry, such as DAXVPN and the DAX-IT secure information transfer solution. DAXProof 2.0 will include around-the-clock technical support and will be available to DAX customers and the graphic communications industry in the second quarter of 2001.
