Press release from the issuing company

San Jose, Calif., (January 30, 2001) (Nasdaq:ADBE)--Adobe Systems Incorporated today announced the availability of the Font Folio 9.0 collection, with nearly 500 additional fonts. Adobe Font Folio is the most complete type solution available for design professionals working on print, Web and digital video projects. The new collection includes 2,750 Type 1 fonts from the Adobe Type Library, including more than 300 new fonts. Additionally, for the first time, OpenType fonts will be included in Font Folio. These 190 cross-platform OpenType fonts, a font format jointly developed by Adobe and Microsoft, work on both Macintosh and Windows operating systems and contain an expanded character set for improved linguistic support and enhanced typographic functionality. Also, all typefaces in Font Folio 9.0 can be installed quickly and easily using the font control panel in Windows 2000 Professional and Server, which now includes native PostScript font support. Additionally, new versions of Adobe Type Manager (ATM) Deluxe, a font management tool, are provided with Font Folio 9.0. The new high quality typefaces cover a wide range of styles, from traditional text typefaces to ornamental, handwriting and script typefaces. Several of the fonts also contain the Euro monetary symbol and the collection includes a set of special Adobe Euro fonts. All packages provide multiple language versions including French and German. Lastly, Font Folio 9.0 includes a new Adobe Type Reference Book and a Typography Primer. "For BMG Direct, the Adobe fonts represent an unfailing standard we can rely on for producing exceptional print, Web and dynamic media designs," said Debbie Allen, senior director, Studio and Digital Services. "The addition of almost 500 new fonts, along with the introduction of OpenType fonts to this collection provides us with an impressive variety to support our current design projects as well as expand our creative possibilities as our needs increase and change for future projects."
