Canon Brings Hyperphoto Digital Express 3000 to Market

Press release from the issuing company

February 1, 2001 - A new and faster way to convert and deliver photos that provides professionals with a quicker return to the bottom line, has been introduced by Canon U.S.A., Inc., a subsidiary of Canon, Inc. (NYSE: CAJ). HyperPhoto Digital Express 3000 is a complete system with multi-function performance capabilities that increases workflow efficiency to produce up to 25-30 CDs per hour. It is three times faster, provides three times better performance and is three times more profitable than other photo conversion systems. Multi-function performance and other key features allow the new system to meet all photo conversion requirements while boosting output for minilabs, print-for-pay shops and professional photographers. Improved color editing capabilities provide customers with the best possible image on a CD. Digital images provide significant advantages over prints and negatives, including easy storage and easy retrieval. Law enforcement, sports organizations and publishing are some of the industries using the Canon HyperPhoto system to maintain and retrieve images. Canon HyperPhoto Digital Express 3000 is an integrated hardware and software system that enables professionals to digitize a variety of analog images to create CDs, index prints and package prints, and even upload images to the Internet from a wide variety of media sources. A new high-speed HyperPhoto HS-150 film scanner quickly digitizes 35mm, APS film, slides and prints. At 600 dpi, scanning resolution for prints has been doubled. The system will be available after April 2001 for approximately $12,000.
