PaperExchange and MAJIQ Integrate Solutions at SP Newsprint

Press release from the issuing company

BOSTON, MA, January 31, 2001 – PaperExchangeSM, the global e-marketplace and business solutions provider for the pulp and paper industry, and MAJIQ Systems and Software, a leading supplier of order fulfillment and production management systems for the pulp and paper industry world-wide, today officially announced the first integration of PaperExchange’s marketplace with MAJIQ’s ELIXIR software at SP Newsprint’s mill in Newberg, Oregon. SP Newsprint can now choose to take available inventories in ELIXIR and instantly post them for sale on PaperExchange’s open global exchange, thereby expanding product visibility, lowering transaction costs, and improving supply chain efficiency. According to Bob Brenner, Chief Executive Officer at PaperExchange, business-to-business integration offers several benefits to customers. “This partnership enables many of our customers to perform meaningful e-commerce quickly and effectively, and to reach a significant new customer base. We are excited to be working with MAJIQ and SP Newsprint to create a more efficient and profitable way of doing business.” The strategic alliance between PaperExchange and MAJIQ creates unique opportunities for the pulp and paper industry by leveraging two complementary software applications. ELIXIR is MAJIQ’s standardized system that helps an entire pulp and paper company operate as a single, functional enterprise. PaperExchange’s marketplace, recognized by Forbes as one of its “Best of the Web” sites, supports global business-to-business commerce in five major languages and every major world currency. By utilizing standards-based XML integration, MAJIQ and PaperExchange created seamless connectivity between their product and service offerings.
