Piranha Releases NetTM Version 1.2; Faster Downloads, Better Images

FREEHOLD, N.J.--Jan. 30, 2001-- Piranha, Inc., (OTC BB: BYTE), an innovator in compression technology and digital workflow solutions, today announced the release of Piranha NetTM 1.2. The latest version of the company's software architecture for creating and viewing graphic-intensive image files on the Internet, Piranha Net provides increased functionality for enhanced viewing of high-quality Web content. Employing Piranha's unique image compression science, Piranha Net 1.2 enables e-commerce, retail and business-to-business Web sites to improve the browsing experience by dramatically reducing the time it takes to download content-rich Web pages. Piranha Net provides browser plug-in support for Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape Communicator, America Online versions 5.0 and 6.0, as well as plug-ins for Adobe Photoshop. Piranha Net plug-ins are supported on Windows, Macintosh and Linux platforms. Built into the application are the required functions to allow image zooming and panning. "The new zooming and panning capabilities allow the Piranha Net plug-ins to support enhanced viewing of high-quality images as well as panoramic images for virtual tours," said Larry Greybill, president of Piranha.
