The online printing company upgraded their automated quoting system to show pricing for nearly any custom size book.

San Luis Obispo, Calif. – Authors, self publishers and creators of all kinds can now get instant pricing on custom-sized book printing at DocuCopies, thanks to a new update to the online printing company’s automated quoting system.

Customers can now enter their job details, choose the next standard size up from their custom request, then click the “Custom Size” button and enter their dimensions to see instant pricing on sizes up to 11x17.

Custom book sizes are available with spiral, comb, perfect and wire-o binding, with more limited sizes listed for saddle stitch/stapled booklets due to the required stapling width.

DocuCopies has always offered custom sizes for books and most other product types on request. But the many binding options and near-infinite product variables posed a unique challenge for their in-house programming team to deliver an automated solution that’s as seamless as their other quoting features.

“One of our strengths is the enormous range of custom options that can be priced out on the website,” says the company’s president, Jeff Corbo. “Most competitors don’t have the time or in-house team to offer the same level of convenience, and instead make their clients email requests and wait for an answer.”

This is just the latest development in a campaign by DocuCopies to expand and reimagine their printing services for a wider range of clients who are now operating in a completely different society from just a year ago. Other changes in 2020 so far include bulk mailing individual books in padded envelopes, and reducing the minimum quantity to two books, due to the event cancelations, school closures and other economic and social consequences of COVID-19.
