Piranha Releases Piranha Version 1.5 Software

Freehold, NJ—January 24, 2001—Larry Greybill, President and C.O.O. of Piranha, Inc. (OTC BB: BYTE), announced today the Company's release of Piranha Byte software version 1.5. Piranha Byte is a comprehensive data compression workflow management tool designed for a wide variety of data compression applications including, publishing, printing, pre-press, medical imaging and archival storage. "Today's software release presents three significant advancements in Piranha's digital workflow management software", Greybill explained. "First, Piranha has addressed the significant challenge of providing an effective data compression tool for PDF files. Secondly, the improved compression in today's release provides improved data transmission speeds resulting in a two times improvement over our closest competitors. Finally, Piranha Byte version 1.5 provides significant advantages in work flow productivity due to our unique multiple file compression, concurrent transmission function." "In addition to the widely accepted desktop software, Piranha is also introducing our new NT Server software to provide more flexibility and 'industrial strength' capability for maximum functionality", continued Greybill. Piranha Byte software is a unique combination of "lossy" and "lossless" data compression algorithms that provides measurable advantages over its competitors. "Our sales team has done an excellent job of 'pre-selling' this new release which will result in an immediate revenue stream which will allow us to meet our objective of a cash flow positive operation by the end of the first quarter", Greybill noted. The next major software release will occur in April to coincide with Seybold-Boston and will address sophisticated folder handling for publishing projects as well as the addition of the Solaris operating platform.
