Piranha Announces the Sale of Piranha Byte 1.5 Software to Matrix Group

Press release from the issuing company

FREEHOLD, N.J.---Jan. 25, 2001--Piranha, Inc., (OTC BB:BYTE), an innovator in data compression technology, today announced the sale of Piranha Byte 1.5, its compression solution for print and publishing firms, to the Matrix Group in Tampa, FL. The Matrix Group is a retailer that specializes in sporting goods and is relying on the Piranha science to help streamline the production of its catalogues. "Since I do not have a lot of storage space on our server, Piranha has rescued me in keeping my archive files well organized and online without requiring the purchase of new hardware," said Rick Colina, director of production services for The Matrix Group. "That saves me money and also keeps my printers happy because they do not have to handle large files." The Matrix Group printers include Quad/Graphics in Nebraska and Prime Media in Colorado. "The new release of Piranha Byte(TM), version 1.5, has caught the attention of all those who require efficiencies and handle a lot of images in the print production world," said Larry E. Greybill, Piranha's president. "This is another example of how cutting-edge technology can help progressive companies cut costs and increase efficiencies in these challenging times." Piranha technologies include solutions for the Internet and streaming video worlds as well. The company has said that it expects to be cash-flow positive by the end of the first quarter, its fifth quarter of existence.
