Donnelley Expands Agreement to Print AARP's New Pub

Press release from the issuing company

CHICAGO, -- RR Donnelley & Sons Company (NYSE:DNY) has announced an expansion of the services provided to AARP with the printing of its new launch, My Generation. The expanded agreement builds on RR Donnelley's 21-year partnership with the nation's leading organization for people aged 50 and older. The new publication targets a circulation of more than three million Baby Boomers between the ages of 50 and 55. In addition to its AARP membership subscription base, the bimonthly magazine, beginning with the March/April 2001 issue, also will be available on a single copy basis on the newsstand, a first for the organization. In addition, RR Donnelley will continue to print AARP's existing publication, Modern Maturity, which targets members aged 56 and up. The total print run of both publications is approximately 22 million. Also published bimonthly, Modern Maturity has the largest circulation of any magazine in the United States. "As our membership has increased and our needs evolved, RR Donnelley has effectively accommodated our growth. We benefit from a long-standing relationship, a strong team and technological capabilities, as both magazines are produced computer-to-plate," said John Condit, director of manufacturing and distribution, AARP. "We have a highly respected partnership with AARP and this expansion reinforces the organization's confidence in our capabilities," said Francis R. Costello, president, RR Donnelley Magazine Publishing Services. Both My Generation and Modern Maturity will be printed in RR Donnelley's Mattoon manufacturing division.
