Xerox.com Remade with International Appeal

Press release from the issuing company

STAMFORD, Conn., - To communicate more consistently and effectively with customers around the world, Xerox Corporation (NYSE: XRX) has redesigned its corporate Web site and infrastructure to serve more countries and to offer more online features, customizable services and speed. The site at www.xerox.com now serves U.S. customers and customers in two other countries - the United Kingdom and Argentina - in their local languages, using this common platform. Canada and Germany will be available within the next few weeks, and more countries will be added throughout 2001. Currently, sites for more than 50 countries are linked from xerox.com. The site also includes several visible and "behind-the-scenes" improvements that make xerox.com more useful and personal to customers today, and that provide a strong backbone for further xerox.com enhancements in the future. "These significant improvements will accelerate Xerox's e-business transition by stimulating e-commerce, strengthening customer relationships and extending the Xerox brand worldwide," said Doug Boothe, vice president and general manager, xerox.com. "Xerox.com is a vital resource for all of our global customers, whether they are looking for product information, are ready to purchase equipment or supplies, or need support or service." Highlights of the new site include: * Better e-commerce capabilities for small office/home office products. Shopping is easier and more streamlined, the time from order to fulfillment has been reduced, and customers now can track their orders online. * A "My Supplies" feature that allows customers to create virtual catalogs of the supplies they use most. With "quick reorder," it also lets customers purchase printer and copier supplies on repeat visits with a simple mouse click. Existing business customers can access their specific pricing agreements. * Business-to-business Extranet sites tailored for major account customers via direct, password-protected access. These sites can dramatically improve account relationship management and ease repeat transactions. * "My Xerox," which offers individual users more personalized views of the entire site, including messages and promotions. Visitors who register for "My Xerox" during the next eight weeks may be eligible for a sweepstakes drawing: Up to 10 Xerox DocuPrint M750 Color Inkjet Printers will be given away each week. The global site is built on a new suite of e-business software applications from BroadVision Inc. (NYSE:BVSN) that increases the site's speed, flexibility and reliability. It also makes it easier for the xerox.com team to manage and update pages for each country now served. The site will recognize when an Argentine customer, for instance, comes to www.xerox.com. It will then display all Web pages in Spanish, with up-to-date pricing in local currency.
