Sir Speedy And Pip Select Webprint for Private Label E-Commerce Solution
Tuesday, January 16, 2001
SAN BRUNO, Calif., Webprint, Inc., a business-to-business, e-commerce provider for on-demand printers and their customers, today announced that Sir Speedy and PIP Printing, leaders in business-to-business printing, copying, and document management solutions, have selected Webprint's e-commerce printing infrastructure and Internet sales solutions. The resulting Internet printing service will appear on Yahoo!(R)'s popular Print Center and allow visitors to print directly from any application, directly to the Sir Speedy or PIP location of their choice, as easily as sending the document to their desktop printer. PIP Printing and Sir Speedy are both owned by Franchise Services, Inc. (FSI), the largest franchisor in the quick printing industry. "Using Webprint's solution, customers can have a higher confidence level that the documents are printed, bound, and finished as they intended," said Don Lowe, president and CEO of FSI. "Webprint's solution also minimizes many of problems that printers have with customer-prepared or desktop-published files." When a visitor submits a printing job, the document is automatically converted by the Webprint system into an industry standard PDF file and the customer is given an accurate proof of the document. After the buyer has reviewed the document, a print-ready file is automatically priced and sent over the Internet to the printer. Sent along with the file are the buyer's instructions -- the type and color of paper to be used, the type of binding or cover stock to use, as well as quantities and delivery instructions to the Sir Speedy or PIP location of their choice. "We're thrilled at early adoption of Webprint's technology by two of the largest franchise organizations in the industry," said Tom White, CEO of Webprint. "In addition, Sir Speedy's and PIP's presence on Yahoo!'s Print Center will put Webprint's technology into the hands of millions of users and give them the ability to print to over 1,100 print locations nationwide."
