Cryonetworks, the leader in interactive 3D virtual applications, announced the release of its SCOL Technology for the Macintosh platform, with a planned release for Apple's next generation operating system, Mac OS X. With this announcement, Cryonetworks makes its current and future products available on the Mac. Fast and extremely light, the SCOL Technology is a programming language that renders 3D in real-time and allows the creation of multi-user sites. These sites can be: 1. Multimedia sites using 2D, 3D, text, audio and video. 2. Multi-user sites that allow everyone to interact live online, including via streaming video, using the latest technology available. "It's always been fun to play games on the Mac, but with the modern technologies we've built into Mac OS X, we're taking gaming to a whole new level," said Clent Richardson, Apple vice president of worldwide developer relations. "We're thrilled that Cryonetworks has brought its online applications to the Mac, allowing all Mac users to discover a whole new world of virtual communities and 100% online games."
