Press release from the issuing company

Bannockburn, Illinois / Toronto, Ontario,- Robert G. Burton, President and Chief Executive Officer of Moore Corporation (NYSE/TSE: MCL), announced today that he has hired Thomas J. Quinlan III as Executive Vice President and Treasurer. Mr. Burton stated: "Tom is a key player on my team as we begin our cost cutting and streamlining initiative at Moore. I have been to battle with Tom at my side in the past and I am absolutely confident that his interaction and professionalism in working with the investment community and financial institutions will be a paramount asset. Tom’s track record as an experienced treasury executive reflects his abilities as a strong and focused leader. I am going to call upon him to deliver improved results in our overall treasury operations from real estate holdings to cash management." Mr. Quinlan stated: "I know first hand that Mr. Burton has the unique ability to get things done in a way that creates improved financial performance. There is no doubt in mind that he will drive tremendous value moving forward for Moore’s investors, customers, suppliers and employees. His vision and reputation are the key motivators for me to accept this new role. In the next 12 to 18 months we will be faced with challenges as we turn Moore around, but I am certain that the team Mr. Burton is putting together has the skill, the drive and, most importantly, the resolve to bring costs in line, enhance the value we provide our customers and return the company to profitability." Mr. Quinlan will be responsible for managing Moore’s financial relationship with various investment banks and financial institutions, as well as managing all aspects of the company's treasury operations, cash management, credit and collection activities, risk management, retirement plan investments and real estate holdings. Mr. Quinlan's primary focus will be to reduce and eliminate costs associated with the company's financing while streamlining and improving the overall treasury operation. Mr. Quinlan will report directly to Mr. Burton. Prior to joining Moore Corporation, Mr. Quinlan held a series of senior executive positions at World Color, including the role of Senior Vice President, Treasurer. Mr. Quinlan left World Color following the sale of the company to Quebecor Printing in fall of 1999.
