Chrystal Software to Provide Content Management Repository for Lexis-Nexis

Press release from the issuing company

SAN DIEGO, Chrystal Software, a Xerox Corporation New Enterprise Company, and Lexis-Nexis®, a unit of Reed Elsevier Inc., today announced an agreement under which Chrystal Software will provide an Astoria® content management system for selected Lexis-Nexis legal content. Under the terms of the agreement, Lexis-Nexis will manage eXtensible Markup Language (XML)-based content in an Astoria repository. Astoria's object-oriented framework is adept at managing documents down to the component level, including retrieving, accessing, versioning and securing each component individually. It also maintains the link between each component within the document or documents. Information can also be personalized and delivered to the Web, print and CD-ROM. Currently, more than 30,730 sources contribute content to the Lexis-Nexis database. Lexis-Nexis will be delivering legal content created in Astoria to about 3 million subscribers. "Chrystal's content management system gives us the performance and the component granularity we need to create and deliver relevant and focused information to our customers," said Dan Hill, senior vice president, Editorial Systems and Content Engineering, Lexis-Nexis.
