Georgia Pacific Brings Paper Consulting/Buying to 58k.com Community

Press release from the issuing company

58k.com and Georgia Pacific's merchant division, Unisource, have entered into an agreement over the holidays. According to Paul Trolio, Unisource will provide advice about the best type of paper to use with each job. Paul wrote in 58k's monthly newsletter to the community, "Unisource Worldwide, a Georgia Pacific Company and North America’s largest paper merchant, will offer paper-related advice directly on our web site. Unisource can help you select the paper grade that best suits your job and they may offer you the option of purchasing paper directly from them. Since paper costs represents about 30% of a print job, selecting the right paper grade can improve quality or cut costs. Our arrangement with Unisource starts on January 1." Paul went on to write, "For 58k.com, hooking up with Unisource is like the day when Benjamin will be accepted at Harvard. 58k.com couldn’t ask for a more credible validation of our neutral marketplace." David Robb, Director of Marketing for 58k.com, said the deal is good for everyone involved. "I can say, though, that with this relationship, buyers will be able to find the best possible stock for their job and get the best possible pricing. Given paper is 30%+ of the average job, we think this is significant. Print buyers can take a more proactive position in the selection and pricing of their work."
