Monday, January 08, 2001

Press release from the issuing company

San Francisco, California —Macromedia, Inc. (NASDAQ: MACR) ) and Wrox Press today announced a partnership to bring Wrox's leading technical reference materials to developers using Macromedia Dreamweaver UltraDev 4. Content from Wrox Press' "Professional Active Server Pages 3.0" and "Professional JSP" will be available as an immediate, online resource embedded within UltraDev through a free extension available for download today from Macromedia Exchange (http://www.macromedia.com/exchange/). Dreamweaver UltraDev 4, which began shipping in December, is part of the Dreamweaver Platform, the professional standard for Web development that unifies the design, production, and development of Web sites. UltraDev 4 enables efficient code-level and visual authoring of Web applications. It is the only product on the market that provides a single visual environment for authoring applications that can use Microsoft Active Server Pages (ASP), Sun Microsystems JavaServer Pages (JSP), or Allaire ColdFusion Markup Language (CFML). Wrox is a leading provider of timely, relevant and practical information, by programmers, for programmers. Its big red books are a familiar sight on the shelves of professional developers worldwide. "By directly integrating Wrox's market-leading reference materials within Dreamweaver UltraDev, both new and seasoned developers can immediately increase their productivity and enhance their skill level," said Kevin Lynch, president of Macromedia products. "The open architecture of the Dreamweaver Platform enables extensions to continually broaden the product's functionality and deliver the up-to-date information that our developer community needs to succeed."
