Reston, Va. – The Association for Print Technologies (APTech) is hosting a free 60-minute webinar, “Best Practices for Vote-By-Mail Envelope Package Designs," on May 20th, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. EST. The event is designed to educate mail service providers on how to best execute a vote-by-mail (or ballot mail) envelope design.
The COVID-19 pandemic is rapidly scaling up vote-by-mail systems. But rapid expansion cannot compromise the integrity of the election or how accurately the vote-by-mail packages are assembled and how efficiently they travel through the postal system.
APTech has engaged a wide range of stakeholders, including election officials, technology providers, policymakers, and service providers, to fashion a coordinated industry response in order to educate and inform mail service providers about the ballot mail segment.
Mail service providers capable of processing, printing and inserting mail utilizing high integrity methods such as reading and matching barcodes or printing variable envelopes using mail run data files are the best equipped convert their operations to meet any demand surge for ballot mail.
This webinar will focus on best practices for envelope design, featuring free templates designed to meet the needs of the USPS, election administrators, and voters and adapted to local election laws and practices.
Participants in this 60-minute program will learn what is required on the vote-by-mail envelope, USPS requirements for election mail, and what’s in the ballot mail templates, where to get them, and how to adapt them.
Content will be presented by Whitney Quesenbery, Director, Center for Civic Design, and moderated by Thayer Long, president, APTech.
