London, UK - printCafeTM, the operating system for printTM, announced today that it was named the Gold Medal Winner of the
Prepress and Publishing 2000 E-Business of the Year award during a ceremony
last month at the Intercontinental Hotel, Park Lane, in London. This award
was presented by the UK-based sister publications, Prepress News, PRINT, and
PUBLISHING.
The E-Business of the Year Award, the newest addition to Prepress and
Publishing's annual awards ceremony, recognized three innovative industry
companies for their outstanding achievements in 2000, with the two other
winners earning silver and bronze medals. An advisory board of 11 printing
and publishing industry members conferred the award.
"It is fitting that the e-business of the year award should, in its
inaugural year, be won by one of the most established online printing
service businesses," said Lindsey Reynolds, editorial director of the
magazines. "The judging panel thought printCafe to be the clear winner,
largely because the printCafe solution offers publishers and printers the
ability to take full advantage of the power of the Internet through online process management, as opposed to services that just provide a basic auction environment to match buyers and sellers."
