Engage Unveils Next Generation Advertising Production System

Press release from the issuing company

Company Launches ApprovalServer 1.2, Demos ContentServer 7.0 Beta and Signs Early Adopter NEW YORK--April 23, 2002-- Engage, Inc., a leading provider of software solutions and services for advertisers, marketers and publishers, today announced the commercial launch of ApprovalServer 1.2, a key component of the Engage advertising production system, as well as the early adoption of its flagship technology, ContentServer 7.0, by Media General's Richmond Times-Dispatch, a leading regional newspaper with a daily circulation of nearly 200,000 serving Richmond, Virginia and surrounding areas. Consisting of ContentServer, ApprovalServer and Digital AdWorkflow modules, the Engage advertising production system enables publishers to track, manage and automate the entire advertising process from reception of digital artwork through production to page archive. The system offers robust advertising management functions, such as comprehensive reporting, ad management and tracking, and online ad approvals. "We're demonstrating our commitment to meet market demands with this new module designed to let newspapers send soft proofs to their advertisers over the Internet," said Christopher Cuddy, president and CEO, for Engage. "We believe that Richmond Times-Dispatch's early adoption of the system underscores the continued market demand for these relevant features." As part of its agreement with Engage, Richmond Times-Dispatch will deploy: Engage's ContentServer 7.0, the core platform for Engage's advertising production system; Approval Server 1.2, an Internet-based proofing and approval system; and Digital Ad Workflow, a browser-based add-on module that streamlines the processing of digitally delivered advertisements and artwork. Currently in a field-ready test version and due for general availability in June 2002, Engage ContentServer 7.0 features new functionality, including out-of-the-box capabilities such as enterprise search and retrieval, and integration with third-party applications using technology including XML, designed to speed the creation, production and delivery of advertising and promotional content. Available now, ApprovalServer 1.2 offers customers a number of new enhancements aimed at improving control over the approval cycle, and maximizing time and resources. With ApprovalServer 1.2, customers are able to annotate materials simultaneously; collaborate within a secure browser environment; receive automated notifications; integrate with production teams and deploy the solution with no end-user software requirements. The Engage advertising production system is designed to boost productivity by integrating with other pre-press publishing software and services, such as Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Distiller Server, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, AP AdSEND, Multi-Ad Creator, and QuarkXPress.
