Savin Brings New Meaning to Document Management At On Demand

Press release from the issuing company

NEW YORK--April 22, 2002--Savin Corp. has a clear mission: to help its customers manage their document lifecycle more efficiently, from input to management to output. At the 2002 On Demand Digital Printing & Publishing Conference & Exposition, Savin will showcase breakthrough new products that deliver on that mission. On display at the Savin booth #845 at the Javits Convention Center from April 23 through April 25 are: the new SLP38cS network color printer, now with copy, scan and fax capabilities; the 25105 Digital Imaging System, connected to a new T/R Systems MicroPress MX server and Version 6.0 software, offering a high-volume alternative for demanding users; the SDC413 Full Color Digital Imaging System, with a new EFI Fiery Print controller, ideal for graphics-intensive businesses; and the 2070DP Digital Imaging System, shown with the new Savin SR85 Bookletmaker, enabling virtually any business to bring professional booklet production in-house. "At Savin, we're focused on helping businesses manage information as efficiently as possible," said Mark Pollack, Savin's Vice President, Marketing. "Savin systems and solutions can help whether information originates as paper documents or electronic files. We call this managing 'the document lifecycle.' "Savin systems give users the power to move information in a wide variety of ways. It can all start with scanning paper documents into the network, and continues with the power to manage, edit, store and retrieve electronic files, and output and distribute information in the form of electronic files or paper documents. All of these capabilities are in addition to the ability to copy standalone documents." Savin SLP38cS On display at On Demand 2002 is the new Savin SLP38cS, which adds copy, scan and fax capabilities to one of last year's most feature-packed color printer introductions. Now business workgroups can have it all - black and white- and full-color print, copy, scan, and fax functionality in one compact system. Think of the ideal network printer (38 ppm black and white, 28 ppm color), then add the paper-handling capabilities of a walk-up digital copier, plus the convenience of a fax machine and flatbed network scanner, and you've got a clear picture of what the SLP38cS offers - true end-to-end document management. Savin 25105 with T/R Systems MicroPress MX Server and Version 6.0 Software For businesses seeking an alternative to complex, high-volume, high-cost production systems, Savin will showcase its award-winning 25105 digital imaging systems connected to T/R Systems' new, advanced MicroPress MX Server and Version 6.0 software. Demanding users -- from publishers to print-for-pay and more -- have a new, efficient way to manage their high-volume needs. Now, as many as twelve 25105's can operate simultaneously to produce finished documents at lightning-fast speeds, offering print-on-demand. For maximum efficiency, the server enables users to make changes during production, such as editing text and adding or deleting pages, without having to revert to the original document or application - ideal for variable data applications like invoices or direct mail. The server and software are compatible with other Savin systems, including the Savin 2585, 2055DP, 2070DP (all black and white models) and the SDC413 (full color). Savin SDC413 with new EFI Fiery Controller Also on display at the Savin booth is the Savin SDC413 Full Color Digital Imaging System, with a new EFI Fiery E-810 Print Controller, designed to handle complex color files and maximize performance. The Controller adds functionality to the already-powerful Savin SDC413. It drives the SDC413 at the maximum rated output speeds in high-resolution 600 dpi, 8-bit color (13 ppm) and black & white (51 ppm). It accelerates setup and offers seamless connectivity to all popular network environments, with automatic IP configuration. For graphics-intensive businesses, it's virtually "point and print" for rich color documents, as the server easily handles complex color applications. The Savin SDC413 is ideal for businesses like graphic arts and print-for-pay, where accuracy is mission-critical. Savin 2070DP with SR85 Bookletmaker Rounding out the offerings at Savin's booth is the 2070DP digital imaging system, shown with an SR85 Bookletmaker. Producing booklets used to be a time-consuming task that had to be outsourced. By adding the SR85 Bookletmaker, you can now easily accommodate a wide range of applications such as newsletters, manuals, magazines and much more, in-house. In addition to the 2070DP, the SR85 is compatible with Savin's 2055DP, 2585 and 25105 systems, to produce multiple sets of professionally- folded and saddle stitched booklets. You can even add a cover on different paper stock or a pre-printed cover for eye-catching finished documents
