107-year-old specialty packaging firm J.L. Clark has become the latest facility to be certified by the Sustainable Green Printing (SGP) Partnership. The company produces a variety of metal and plastic packaging containers for some top-name consumer products companies. (I am intimately familiar with their McCormick spice containers.)
“Our journey of 107 years has seen many changes, but the one constant has been sustainability,” comments Philip Baerenwald, President, J.L. Clark. “From using metal scraps for new products to becoming a zero-waste to landfill facility, J.L. Clark takes stewardship to the environment seriously. SGP Certification provides third party validation to demonstrate our commitment.”
J.L. Clark offers total packaging services from what the company refers to as “art to part,” including package development, graphic and concept design, and physical samples and prototypes. The company, with facilities in Lancaster, Penn., and Rockford, Ill., has won a number of awards for its sustainability programs, including the prestigious 2011 Illinois Governor's Sustainability Award and the KNIB Earth Day Award and participates in such sustainable projects such as the Great American Clean Up. Going Green congratulates J.L. Clark on their certification and their commitment to sustainability.
