The U. S. Postal Service recycled more than 200,000 tons of paper, plastics, and other waste on 2009. That’s a good thing!
But their recycling enthusiasm may have gotten a bit out of hand. They say that they are recycling pixels as well.

My 6-year old HP Deskjet gave up the ghost - with vengeance! At first I worried that once I got my new one, my old one would become third-world toxic waste. HP assures me that when I send it back to them with their UPS call tag, they won't export non-working electronics to developing countries.

Many in the investment community view Vistaprint as an extremely successful and profitable printing company. In real life “do overs” can get expensive. In late September, R.R. Donnelley (NasdaqGS: RRD) filed an SEC form 8-K announcing that the company had terminated a contract with a “critical customer” and it would incur charges between $123 million to $130 million under the agreement. The termination would “end their contractual relationship allowing [Donnelley] to exit from certain unprofitable operations.”

Almost every guide to “going green” starts with paper. Use the right paper, use recycled paper, use both sides – in printing, it almost always starts with the paper. Several paper manufacturers (Mohawk Fine Papers, Neenah Paper and NewPage) and a number of paper merchants (including xpedx, Pitman, Eagle Ridge Paper, and others) had stands at Print09, and a representative of Appleton Coated caught me in the aisles.
