In December 2008 Homewood Press installed a power generating wind turbine for the purpose of providing electricity from a clean energy source to assist in providing power to their plant. Projections that suggest that the wind turbine will generate approximately 1/3 of the power the plant consumes annually.

Friday, March 19, 2010, Nationwide Graphics acquired the assets of Premier Graphics in a "uniform commercial code sale” from GE Capital. Nationwide Graphics provided day-to-day management of Premier Graphic's operations under a management contract since early 2002. The purchase price was not disclosed.
"Premier Graphics was a company we managed and cared about," Carl Norton, Chairman and CEO of Nationwide Graphics, told PrintCEO, "so we bought it."

The joining of Quad/Graphics and World Color Press followed an intricate dance between giants. Quad/Graphics was the smallest of the three players in the contest for ownership of World Color Press. RR Donnelley's attempt to buy World Color out of bankruptcy failed and, shortly after, Quad/Graphics began discussions that brought the much larger World Color Press under the control of the Quadracci family.

UV technology is evolving almost faster than we can keep up. This year’s event had both technical sessions and business sessions, and it was clear that getting up and running with UV doesn’t stop at the plant floor. Training sales and customer service reps to sell the technology is as critical as installing a printer or curing unit.

Many in the investment community view Vistaprint as an extremely successful and profitable printing company. Printers across North America point to the company as a model: “If I could just be another Vistaprint.” If you look a little more closely, you’ll see that Vistaprint is not “just another printer,” it’s a sophisticated marketing company that sells marketing products and services to consumers and small/micro businesses. In real life “do overs” can get expensive. In late September, R.R. Donnelley (NasdaqGS: RRD) filed an SEC form 8-K announcing that the company had terminated a contract with a “critical customer” and it would incur charges between $123 million to $130 million under the agreement. The termination would “end their contractual relationship allowing [Donnelley] to exit from certain unprofitable operations.”
