When Superstorm Sandy battered the East Coast last October, assaulting the Northeast on October 29, many lives and businesses were disrupted. Among them was commercial printer 4Over, Inc., whose Moonachie, N.J. plant was devastated by Sandy, with the shop floor submerged under nearly four feet of water. For five months after Sandy, while Moonachie ran at limited capacity, jobs were diverted to 4Over’s other facilities in Miami, Dayton, and Phoenix. Meanwhile, workmen salvaged what could be salvaged, and replaced equipment that was beyond repair. New acquires by the plant included a Komori GL40 Press. Last month, the Moonachie plant overhaul was completed and to celebrate the restoration of full production, 4Over held an open house in mid-April that drew as many as 500 customers from the New York and New Jersey area. Guests toured the plant and watched a slide show that documented the carnage. “The response to our open house has been great thus far. We’re so thrilled to have had the support of our loyal customers throughout this recovery period and we’d like to thank them for keeping us in business,” said CEO Zarik Megerdichian in a company press release.
