Poet Joyce Kilmer wrote, “Only God can make a tree,” to which Woody Allen added, “Probably because it’s so hard to figure out how to get the bark on.” Trees have been known for inspiring poets and writers, and now Poets & Writers is returning the favor, with a new video that explains how the creative writing magazine—and its parent publishing company—adopted a new “greening strategy.” From tiny acorns indeed: in the video, P&W managing editor Suzanne Pettypiece explains how the company started using recycled paper—as much as 90% recycled for its interior pages. From there, the company began expanding its commitment to green business and publishing practices. (Hmm....we shall have to encourage them to the enter the Fifth Annual Environmental Innovation Awards next year...) The video, “Poets & Writers: Green Printing and Beyond,” can be seen here.
