Xeikon_Chicago_Print09_091209_003Sometimes the sheer volume of paper going in and out of the trade show floor at events like Print 09 is overwhelming. While most of it goes directly into the recycling bin, it seems a waste of paper and energy to do it that way! Xeikon used the opportunity to do something good. Demonstrating both variable printing and inline cutting capabilities, the company produced thousands of greeting cards to be donated to the  Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and The Jimmy Fund for the Institute's upcoming 2009 Holiday Greetings program. A Xeikon 8000 ran inline with a complete finishing unit capable of UV-coating, lamination, super-glossing, die-cutting, stacking and batching. Xeikon_Chicago_Print09_091209_002Mike Ring, VP of Sales and CMO of Xeikon's North American operations said, “This partnership between Xeikon and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute / The Jimmy Fund has truly brought joy across our organization.” He expressed hope that Print 09 attendees would learn the organization and the fight against cancer in children and adults. Xeikon_Chicago_Print09_091209_004Mike Ring and Marisa Carullo, Matter Communications, collected finished cards as they come off the press and gather them for distribution to Dana-Farber. Recognized as a provider of equipment for producing marketing materials and direct mail, Xeikon reaches into new segments such as labels, packaging, and transfer printing. C-Digital, a Xeikon printer, prints images for transfer to a wide variety of products during the manufacturing process. For example, a manufacturer of plastic buckets used for utility, near food, and direct food applications, has integrated the transfer of 4 color images to buckets into the manufacturing process. C-Digital also prints transfers for textiles and other plastic items. Even during these tough economic times, Xeikon sales have stayed on track. Unit sales are on plan and recurring revenue is up, indicating that users of Xeikon equipment have had enough capacity to pick up production without having to add more equipment.
