Good news for EFI. Can't rule out HP integrating the HiFlex in a better way so their retraction from distribution could be momentary. Note Xerox has been in and out of the wide format business for decades - and - later on HP could change its mind re: HiFlex
functionality with a nice integration.

That sounds like an interesting option at the rate MIS solutions are coming and going :-) Requires more IT on staff, tho, I would assume. However, printing companies should increasingly be adding IT resources anyway if they want to stay current with market demands.

David, I like the approach of providing source code to your customers. But as remarkable and laudable as that is, DynamicsPrint is still a commercial product, not open source project.
Cary, Open Source software is usually as simple to install, configure, use and manage as the equivalent commercial alternatives. Sometimes, much easier! And YES, I whole-heartedly agree that IT talent will increasingly be critical to successful printers.
